This is the twenty-eighth installment of the serialization of a book entitled The 15% Solution: A Political History of American Fascism, 2001-2022.  Herein you will find Appendix III.  This Appendix, purportedly written by the 20^th century political analyst, (the fictional) “Dino Lewis” presents a description of the Republican Religious Right’s “gradual assault on democratic institutions.”  It is certainly fully relevant to the United States right now and what we might face in a future governed fully by the Republican Religious Right.

The sentencing of Dharun Ravi for the hateful abuse that may have driven his gay roommate at Rutgers, Tyler Clementi, to commit suicide, or Barack Obama’s public acceptance of gay marriage, prevents many of us from seeing that life for gays, lesbians, bisexuals and transgender people is getting worse—much worse.

(This chapter is very long, and so it will be presented in five parts.) From the perspective of the 25^th Anniversary of the Restoration of U.S. Constitutional Democracy in 2048, this chapter discusses “what might have been done” to prevent the fall of the old United States into fascism. If present readers find that the warnings from that far-off time have relevance for today’s, that is precisely the intent.

Most biblical scholars today trace what we see going on here in the states as well as the history of Christianity since the fourth century to the days of Constantine in 313 AD when he made the state religion Christianity. That’s considered to be the beginning of the subversion of Christianity. At that point Jesus and what He taught was replaced with an old covenant mentality to fit the needs of those in power to rule and dominate in order to further their political agenda. It was to justify their actions knowing they would receive no reproach because they knew people wouldn’t question God due to fear and it would be a sin to them.

I really do care about the direction this country is heading and the way the church is trying to fix it.

These are just some thoughts to think on and issues that should be of concern to us as believers when dealing with a world that is rapidly growing with a scientific mentality denying all things pertaining to God while the church continues preaching to the choir, especially in the self help department. I don’t see the methods of Jesus’ teachings being applied in the religious right’s mentality. I think in many ways it is doing more damage than good and the blowback it could cause is making Jesus look like something He is not.

For it was the Republicans of the 1990s and what they told us back then they would do if they ever got full power (e.g., see “Gingrich” and “Armey” on p. 3), with the complicity/acquiescence/meek “opposition” of the “center-right” Democratic Party of the time, that got the nation to where it eventually got to.

Norway’s cold-blooded mass killer Anders Behring Breivik claimed in a closed court hearing that he was a member of two cells in a far-right organisation committed to bringing about a cultural revolution in Europe.

The claim by the 32-year-old son of a diplomat implies that he had accomplices in carrying out his deadly mission in which at least 76 people were killed in a twin bomb and gun attack in and around the Norwegian capital, Oslo, last Friday.
