“True democracy is the resistance of people armed with the truth against lies. From people in Tahrir to right here in London.”
The man on the frontline of the information battle, WikiLeaks editor Julian Assange, has given a Christmas address. He has delivered his speech from the balcony of the Ecuadorian embassy in London, where he’s been ensconced for six months, after being granted political asylum.
“My freedom is limited, I am at least able to communicate. Unlike Gottfrid Svartholm, Jeremy Hammond, Nabeel Rajab, Brad Manning,” said Assange. During his speech he also made a major announcement, “”WikiLeaks already has 1 million documents being prepared for release. These documents will affect EVERY country in the world!” Assange also referenced his plans to run for Australian Senate in 2013.
Assange supporters outside the Embassy chanted “El pueblo unido, jamás será vencido!” which means, “The people united, will never be defeated!”

All hail the courageous truth tellers and whistleblowers who dare to stand up and speak out against our immoral, corrupt, undemocratic, murdering, bullying U.S. government.
Powerful, visionary address by Julian Assange. Hold on to your hats in 2014 – the year of revelations.
Thanks,
Jerry
Happy New Year to you, Jerry. I do hope you are right.
Thanks Lo for all you do, and the staggering volume of essential information you manage so effectively!
I also expect this new year to increasingly resonate with ever-growing ~ & irrepressible ~ public concerns about government integrity, regulatory ethics and most essentially, the crucial recognition of what constitutes acceptable political morality and process.
Since the truth jinn have well and truly escaped from their establishment-controlled containment vessel, they will no longer be suppressed. Only extreme tyrannical measures can stifle the authentic fledgling consciousness now so much in evidence. Let us not forget, it was not that many generations ago when public literacy itself was an almost unheard of exception in many societies, never mind the rule.
We must continue to educate ourselves and each other; be critical but tolerant; analyse our methods and pursue the enlightened research so necessary to refine our discourses & narratives ~ not be bought, bamboozled or bribed.
Knowledge is power! armed with the confidence and determination life’s learning bestows, we can fearlessly challenge the pious hypocrites and greedy cynics; the liars and cheats; fraudulent professionals & false guardians; those who debase their professed standards, deceiving even themselves, to become monstrous caricatures and corrupt apologists for criminality.
Dandelion Salad is such a fine example of how open discussion, intelligent opinion, fresh ideas, disciplined argument, debate and free thought can coexist and flourish. May its precious contribution remain an inspiration to many.
Thanks so much, David, you are very kind. And thank YOU for all your intelligent and polite commentary as it adds greatly to the importance of this blog.
