Join the campaign to make Santa Cruz a Constitution Protection Zone to defend our community from the indefinite detention of citizens under Sections 1021 & 1022 of the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) which was signed into law by President Obama on December 31st, 2011. Chris Hedges was the lead plaintiff in the federal case that sought to defend our civil liberties from the NDAA. Daniel Sheehan is a renowned constitutional lawyer and the leader in the campaign to form a Constitutional Protection Zone in Santa Cruz. Keith McHenry has been targeted as a domestic terrorist for his nonviolent work to end war and poverty and is one of the many Americans likely to disappear under the tenets of the NDAA.

  7. I had the honor of seeing Chris Hedges speak in person for the first time at this event, Sunday evening. It was a triple treat for the audience as Daniel Sheehan and Keith McHenry enhanced the venue with their contributions to society regarding peace, justice and “real Christian” treatment of fellow human beings.

My thanks to Lo, for sharing this highly inspirational lecture on Dandelion Salad. It was predominantly about Obama’s NDAA bill, but encompasses so much more than that topic. As you know, Hedges doesn’t pull any punches with false “get along” rhetoric. He is an elegant man and an eloquent speaker, armed with the mightiest weapon in the world – TRUTH!

    • Great, so glad you got to see him speak in person.

“Live for the truth.” – Chris Hedges

I met him in 2009 for a talk he gave at the University. He later sent me the transcript so I could post it on Dandelion Salad and gave me permission to post his future articles here.
