On this week’s episode of On Contact, Chris Hedges explores the rise of a new McCarthyism with Professor Ellen Schrecker, author of “Many are the Crimes: McCarthyism in America”. They examine the role of President Elect Donald Trump and the impact the suppression of dissent has had on higher education. RT Correspondent Anya Parampil looks at a few recent examples of targets of this new McCarthyism.

  8. “Hooverism….” so true. Sexual blackmail was his specialty; while fishnet stockings were his preferred attire. A devoutly fanatical “control freak.”

Politically correct journalism, military intelligence & government careers have always been closely aligned with exceptionalist ‘history,’ the most complicit academic route to professional empowerment.

It is instructive to acknowledge the role of corporate foundations in the infiltration of US faculties of higher education; how ‘patronage’ and selective persuasion introduced gross historical bias, under the influence of vested financial interests, that were enthusiastically promoting carefully orchestrated disinformation agendas as scholarship. This precedent was well established and the methodology well practiced, within the exclusive halls and privileged domains of the British establishment.
